I prefer Fantasy. The Drangonlance books will always be my favorite. Raistlin Majere was one of my 1st "book crushes." A close second would be David Eddings books. Polgara the sorceress was full of awesome.

Pretty much anything with a good story and characters I care about. Andre Norton is still the queen of sci-fi, but she's got some good competition these days. For hard sf, Julie Czerneda is hard to beat. Her biology based stories are incredible.
