Behind the Scenes: The inspiration for the Volcanic Killer Ash Bees came from a visit to the Lava Lands in Central Oregon and an encounter with a black and white bee. I had never seen a black and white bee before. Had to be a magic bee. The Winchester mansion in California lends a lot of aura to the Patrick Swit House. There’s a couple who visits the library with the fossils they dug up outside town, which were my husband and I. We did visit the library after digging fossils once to see if we could find out more information. None of our fossils were bees, however.
